It's been way too long...
Don't know if anyone looks at this still, but in case you were wondering... Everyone here is good. Suzy is 5 now and starting to get a little grey around her ears. She's silly as ever. We have a bigger house now and she LOVES having all the space to roam and flop around as she pleases (although she still rather prefers to be near my husband or me). We have a bunny now and they are best friends. When Baxter gets let out of her cage, she goes looking for Suzy. Then Suzy will lay there while Baxter snuggles her face in her fur. It's all very cute, but because of Suzy's LARGE size and Baxter's tiny size they are always carefully monitored to make sure no one get's smooshed. :)
Here's some photos of Suzy. Hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer.

AHA Heartwalk
My mommy and I will be participating in this year's American Heart Association Heart Walk on October 5 at 8:30 am. It will be at the Kent State University Ashtabula Campus. If any of you pups and parents are in the NE Ohio/NW Pennsylvania area and want to join please come out! I will be there walking with my mommy in honor of my great grandpa (my mommy's grandpa) and in recognition of all the wonderful people who helped save his life when he had his scary heart attack.
We hope to see you soon!

The Epitomy of Laziness, thy name is Suzy
Hi all! I got a SD card reader for my birthday so I've finally been to download all of my pics and videos onto my computer. I found a funny one of Suzy and her daddy that I thought you might enjoy. It was on a lazy Sunday afternoon after Suzy had spent the majority of the day outside playing and riding in the car with mommy. Suzy is 16 months old in this video.

Update
We are very happy to announce that Kate has found a new home. Suzy is very happy being an only dog as that means she gets all our attention. We will hopefully be back sometime after the holiday, since right now I can not upload any photos from my camera to my computer.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Playing Catch up
Well summer vacation is over. :( But, momma has finally uploaded all of our pictures! WooHoo!!! So now we can blog for real and hopefully more regularly. We hope you all had a great summer. We've enjoyed reading everyone's blogs.
TO OSCAR'S MOMMY AND DADDY: We're sorry about what happened and we were really sad for you. Oscar seemed like a really cool pup. We are thinking about you.
NANOOK AND POOKA:
We're glad you got your computer back. You need to start hiding it from dad. We were starting to worry. ;)
Well our summer has been busy. We spent a lot of time outside playing and inside trying to stay cool.
I (Suzy) got a hair cut. I was not impressed, but I did feel cooler.
Me pre-haircut:
Me post-haircut:
Kate got spayed and now momma and daddy are looking for the perfect family for her (more about that later). Basically it's just been us and our momma -n- dad. Not too exciting. Ooo! I have been sleeping out of my crate at night now. :) I've finally convinced mommy and daddy that I can be trusted at night. In fact, I'm going to go to bed now... starting to fall asleep... can't keep my eyes open... good night. :)

Sad day
Well, here we are, Suzy and Kate. Way long time since our last post. Our mommy never dreamed our summer would be this busy, she's hasn't been able to have time to help us on our posts. Today is an exception though, as our mommy is very sad and we wanted to help her. Today mommy told us about a dog that we have never met. This dog grew up with our mommy and knew her for 17 years. (I, Suzy, am pretty sure that she was the one I smelt on mommy's clothes after she visited her mommy and daddy and sisters.) Our mommy told us that this dog, Molly, needed to go on a long holiday. She was very old, frail and in pain, according to mommy. So she wanted us to post the blog and email below to let you all get to know a little bit about Molly.
~Suzy and Kate
This picture of Molly was when she was 14 years old.
Molly, the "extra sister" in the Hines family, was put to sleep today. She lived a good and long life. She blessed my family's life for 17 years. As this summer grew and time passed us by, we knew that Molly would not be here to bless us for an 18th year. Molly was getting old and her arthritis was starting to become too much for her. She had lost most of her sight and hearing but still had an excellent sense of smell. This Sunday when Chris and I were over at my parent's house, we witnessed Molly in the kitchen whining and begging for some corn-on-the-cob (her favorite people food). (Dad gave her a few bites from one of his almost finished ears of corn.)
No one wanted to put her down, but time wasn't acting as nicely to Molly as it had in the past. It was getting harder and harder for her to walk and get up and meet people. She had to be let outside all the time and occasionally, my parents would still find a "present" in the house from her.
I honestly believed that Molly sensed a time of change. Even in her "younger" years (13, 14, 15...) one day Molly would act like she was at death's door and the next she'd act like she was 5 again. But I had moved out of the house, Jessic will be leaving this fall to start college in Akron and will be living in the dorms, and Anna, although she did move back, I don't believe will be home for long. All of her girls were moving away. And although I'm sure she would have enjoyed some alone time with mom and dad, I believe that she sensed the changes/moves coming about and saw that her purpose had been accomplished.
Molly really, truely was our other sister. Whenever one of us sisters would be away and we'd call home, the first question out of our mouths would be "How's Molly? What's she been up to? Does she miss me/us?" She helped Jessica (and other visitors) overcome her (their) fear of dogs, in a kind, loving way. Even people who weren't huge dog fans would walk away from our house in love with Molly. She's been with us through out the majority of our moves and travels. She was our stuffed animal at night (although she always had a knack for kicking me off my daybed and hogging all the blankets ), our playmate during the day, and our best friend and confidant when we needed someone to listen and comfort us. She will be loved and missed. Below is an email that my mom sent out to some of our family and friends this morning.
Thanks for "listening".

Dear Friends,
Well, it was time, but that really doesn't make anything easier. Our dear friend and canine pal, Molly, went to the vet for the very last time today. We are going to miss her. You don't have someone as part of your family for nearly 17 years and just let her go without shedding a few buckets full of tears. The family will survive, we know. She was "just a critter," after all. But, we have lost a good dog and we will mourn her passing, even though we have lots of good memories. Thanks for sharing this with us....
Love, Julie

We're back!!!
Hi everyone! We're back!!! Thank you for all of your comments and well wishes. We've had a very busy couple of weeks! Katie got her stitches out from her surgery. Then mommy was busy helping at the church and daddy started his new job. We had a fun fourth of July and we got tagged twice by Tasha and Eva! Katie's ready to fill it out, but how do we tag other doggies? We will be posting pics soon and more about our last couple of weeks.
Thanks to everyone for your comments! We can't wait to get to know all of you!
